Famous rapper Killer Mike sued two security companies contracted for the 2024 Grammy Awards over allegations of abuse and battery.
The famous artist named S&S Labor Force Inc. and JRM Private Security, claiming these companies allowed their employees to much leeway which prompted his citizen’s arrest at the award show one year ago, according to TMZ. The rapper alleged he was halted by security as he attempted to reach the red carpet for media interviews and photos despite securing multiple awards and obtaining all the required credentials. Law enforcement hauled Killer Mike to jail after a brief interaction with the security representatives at the time, according to the lawsuit.
Killer Mike claimed the security guards physically assaulted him and battered him by placing their hands on him in front of witnesses, according to TMZ. He claimed the security agents restrained him, resulting in emotional distress and public humiliation.
The artist said in the lawsuit that he was unlawfully detained and claimed he was placed under citizen’s arrest under false pretenses to begin with.

Killer Mike’s court filing said police eventually arrived on-scene and took him into custody and noted he spent hours in jail that night, which made him unable to take the stage to present a Grammy award. He was slated to appear in front of a large audience, which was a significant loss of opportunity for the star.
